Remove the pie sheets from the freezer and allow them to thaw.

Serve the cigars, preferably hot, but .... they are good and cold.

At the base of this brandy is the spirit of grapes, which is aged for a long time in specially made oak barrels. Its aroma and taste depend directly on the amount of alcohol, tannins, aldehydes, esters and acids. Indeed, the percentage of these components gives rise to various variants of this elite drink. Often, such alcohol is appreciated for a pleasant aftertaste, as well as for a delicate aroma of floral fruits.

Its quality is determined by the following criteria:

  • thick and light oily consistency - flowing on the walls of the glass, the brandy leaves distinct traces
  • transparency - the fingerprints left on the wall of the glass must be seen through the contents from behind
  • the aroma changes when it interacts with the air (oak notes become less pronounced, are replaced by flowers or fruits)
  • lack of sediment.

For reference: in the production of French cognac are used only raw materials from certain varieties of white grapes - colombard, fol blanche, uni blanc (trebbiano), montil, which are very acidic.

Most ordinary modern cognacs that can be found on store shelves are not infused in oak barrels, but are made by mixing cognac spirit, often purchased from other manufacturers. The advantage of such a drink is a short exposure time. Given this fact, you can try to make a pleasant, rich brandy. The main thing is to follow the basic rules and not be afraid to experiment.

Video instructions for preparing alcoholic brandy:

  • ethyl alcohol (40%) - 3 l
  • oak bark (dry) - 1 tbsp. l.
  • instant coffee - 0.5 teaspoon. (or 1 tablespoon)
  • sugar - 1 tbsp. l.
  • lemon (medium size) - 1 pc.

Initially, the fresh lemon must be passed together with the peel through a meat grinder or chopped using a blender. The resulting mass is mixed with oak bark, sugar and coffee, then placed in a glass jar and filled with alcohol.

It is necessary to mix the mixture well until the sugar crystals are completely dissolved and then store the vessels with future brandy in a cool, dark place for a week. After expiration of the finished beverage is filtered and poured into glass bottles.

IMPORTANT: to reduce alcohol resistance, experts recommend diluting it with purified, non-carbonated water. To dilute 1 liter of alcohol to 40%, you need to add 1.4 liters of water, up to 45% - 1.2 liters. In this case, the ethyl alcohol is poured into chilled water and not in reverse order. The resulting liquid should settle for a week.

With oak bark

A tart drink can be obtained from the following set of ingredients:

  • ethyl alcohol (40-45%) - 5 l (can be replaced with vodka)
  • dried (crushed) oak bark - 5 tbsp
  • sugar (burnt) - 5 teaspoons
  • vanillin or vanilla sugar - to taste.

Also, if you want, you can add a small amount of chopped nutmeg, bay leaves, cloves and mushrooms.

To make a drink at home, you will need a 5-liter glass container with a narrow neck and a matching lid (in addition, you can wrap it in polyethylene). This will help prevent the escape of volatile matter vapor. The alcohol is poured into the glass almost to the top to reduce contact with air, then dissolve the sugar in it and add the remaining components. Drink infused in a dark room for at least a month.

Of noteOak bark can be replaced with ripe acorns, which are collected in early autumn. First, they must be cleaned and filled with water. Pop-ups are considered unsuitable for later use and discarded.

Before use, the brandy is carefully filtered through a paper or cotton filter.
